Time Has Come with Waving Blue - An Interview

***** Interview with Waving Blue *****

Q. When did Waving Blue start? Tell us about the history...
Waving Blue started officialy in 2010 but most of the old songs were composed before, some of them i played live with my previous band called Mesmerise where David Liso ( aka Dynamo Stairs ) was the singer .

Q: Who are your influences?
My influences are: Shoegaze obviously, but also early new wave and post punk.
I'm also into indie pop ( Sarah records, Field mice especially ).

Q. Make a list of 5 albuns of all time…
5 albums....hhmmm...this is hard....
I try: Ride - Nowhere,
MBV - Loveless,
Slowdive - Souvlaki,
Beatles - Revolver,
The Smiths - The Queen is dead.

Q. How do you feel playing live?
I don't actually play live no more, this is a solo home project ( very DIY attitude, no professional studio or things like that ) just for me and my friends, no time to do gigs also if i'm planned something new for the summer.....

Q. How do you describe Waving Blue sounds?
I try to recreate atsmosphere and sounds that make me feel better, just this.

When i play guitar and create a song, i feel like i'm doing the right thing, i feel to have a purpose and that this purpose is right.

Q: Tell us about the process of recording the songs ?
The process is simple: i start before with a riff that i try for weeks and then add lyrics.

Most of them are very personal and regarding my real experiences but sometimes there are invented stories that grow up in my mind in a very natural way: a simple thing like a storm of birds, the smile of a stranger or when you heard conversations on a train.
im actually into Hater, swedish indie pop band, Funeral Advantage and the new Matt Bartram's AIr formation project called You Walk through Walls. These are the records that actually play hard on my stereo.

Q. Which new bands do you recommend?
I've just made a cover version of Blink 182 ( ! yes, you understood well... ) of their classic hit "What's my age again?".

Q: Which band would you love to made a cover version of?
This has started like a joke during a Neil Halstead solo gig with my friend Nicola Lampredi ( Be Forest's Guitar ). We were talking about covers and he says that it would be funny make a cover of a band light years away from your taste. The day after a shoegaze version of this song was made.

Q: What are your plans for the future?
My plans are continue to make songs, buy records and take care of my family!

Q: Any parting words?
I just want to say only thanks again for this interview, it' so beautiful when someone appreciate so much my music, i'm proud of it.
